Beyond Cellulite Beyond Cellulite is a brilliant book which mainly focuses on a new way of life rather than a get healthy quick routine. It covers everthing from diet and excersise to mental health. If you feel yourself slacking, read a couple of chapters and you will be back on track. I followed it when I was pregnant. As a result I had a wonderful pregnancy, a better figure and no cellulite after my baby was born. Unfortunately, I lent the book to a friend who never returned it. Hence visiting this site for another copy. Good Luck! It works! I've dabbled occasionally with Nicole Ronsard's philosophy for over 20 years but didn't take her approach seriously until now. Something to do with turning 50. I wanted to be in shape again. Walking five times a week helped a little but still didn't get rid of my riding thighs, lumpy legs, and thick knees. The cellulite was beginning to appear on my stomach also. At 5'10" and 165 lbs I didn't look overweight but after the first 6 weeks of following her plan I lost 14 lbs. My legs and rear end are sleeker, pants fit better and I am able to wear shorts without embarrasment. My knees are thinner, I look healthy and feel great! To those people who tell you that you can't lose cellulite, they are wrong. If you follow this plan you can show them it really can be done. Then you can reap the rewards of feeling great and knowing you look great! Good luck ! Some new info, some old info, all helpful I was really surprised to learn about the sodium/potassium balance that plays such a big role in cellulite. I was very impressed with the author's encouragement to eat raw fruits, veggies, nuts, seeds and sprouts etc. I have been studying (and practicing) raw foodism for a little while on and off and considering this book was written in 1995 (and that was the second edition!) I am truly glad to see that the raw food movement is - once again - not a new concept and truly is the best way to eat. The ideas that she presents are fairly basic, but then again, she has an almost vegetarian way of eating which also is encouraging. Even though some of what she writes would seem obvious, it goes beyond. It's worth purchasing and seeing if it makes a difference in your life.

Best epilator ever The Emjoi AP-18 Emagine Dual Opposed 72 Tweezer Head Epilator is quite simply the best epilator I have ever used. It's easy to use, has plenty of power in its two power settings, and the 72 tweezer heads significantly reduce the amount of time epilating takes. Other epilators could take me an hour to do my legs, since I would have to go over the same area repeatedly to get all of the hairs. With 72 tweezer heads and plenty of power, I think the Emjoi AP-18 takes under 10 minutes to do both legs. It's not very noisy to operate, and if you're used to epilating, the hair removal isn't painful. If you aren't used to epilating, any epilator will be painful for the first several uses. Even cleaning out this epilator is easy. The only thing I would change about this epilator would be making it cordless. Then again, they may not be able to keep the power level consistent enough while running on battery power, which may be the reason it's operable only while plugged in to an outlet. The Emjoi AP-18 is pricier than many of the other epilators on the market, but the superior performance makes it well worth the price. I wouldn't trade mine for anything! Twice the price, 1/3 quicker, doesn't get all the hairs I've been a fan of epilators ever since the 90s. Since my legs weren't that bad, it didn't take long, but I still didn't feel it was working miraculously fast, and when I had removed as much hair as the epliator could, my legs still felt somewhat stubbly. That gave me the idea to compare it to my old epilator. I got the Philips back out. Started by running it over my legs. Yep, they felt smoother. Then I decided to time it. Since my legs were done, I decided to do my arms. To keep it fair, I used my dominant hand (left) to hold the Emjoi and my right hand for the Philips. It took the Emjoi five minutes to clear as much hair as possible my right arm. It took seven with the Philips on my left. However, again, my left arm was noticeably smoother than my right and the Philips' single row of tweezers felt more nimble going over bony areas. I ended up finishing off my right arm with the Philips. The only upside I found was that the Emjoi seemed less painful than the Philips. I could see using the Emjoi to start an area that had been neglected for a while. Still, as a daily epilator, the Philips, and the Braun before it, were both far superior, if a tiny bit slower. BEST BEST BEST EVER! This is the third epilator that I have owned. I have used Epilady, Braun and now the Emjoi Emagine and for the first time in three years I love the fact that I epilate my legs over shaving. It is so much faster than the Braun or Epilady and grabs the hairs that the other epilators missed. Love it and would highly recommend over Brawn or Epilady.

fantastic I got this as a gift and couldn't believe how good it was. I've used other home massage systems and always ended up just throwing them away because they were no good. The rolling balls in this are so perfect and it's so versatile because you can place it anywhere on the body, even feet and calves. It really helps my tension headaches too. I'm going to get one for my dad. It's fantastic and the price can't be beat. I found it just as good as those $2000 chairs, but more customizable. Also, a tip is that if the rolling motion is too strong (i found this to the case when i use on my head) you can put a towel over it so it's more gentle. do not buy this, get the BKK-100 instead I gave my BKK-100 to someone who needed it right away. When it was time to replace it, I bought this, based on the stellar reviews. Sometimes I think people write reviews for the sake of seeing their words in print. This is a TERRIBLE massager. The fault lies in the fact that it has 2 different sized massagers, the right one, and a larger, flatter one that makes heat (and little of that). The bigger head does not allow the smaller one to make contact with your neck at all, completely negating it, and since it's a flat head, there is no 'shiatsu' massage, it's pointless. I sent it back and re-ordered the BKK-100, and immediately wrote this to save YOU from making the same mistake I did! Relief at a great price...Great product. This product has made me very happy. For severe back, neck, & shoulder pain this has relieved the pain at a fraction of the cost of the massage chairs & pads. I can move the pillow around to get any spot that aches. The shiatsu & heat together is WONDERFUL. I rarely write reviews but this product deserves it.

Great as a reference I love this book. Once I started reading it I couldn't put it down. I have found information about certain skin concerns of mine in this book and was able to educate myself. I also like the myths vs. facts. Everyone should have this book. It is easy to read and understand from a patients standpoint and the Physicians. It's not a bunch of complicated medical words. A must-have for everyone! This book is like having a personal dermatologist in your home. Every skin issue is addressed and real solutions and suggestions make this a must-have for everyone. As a mom of three - this book will be within my reach at all times! Now when I have a skin question or problem I don't have to pay to go to the doctor just to ask a question. The doctors have written a book that is easy to ready, easy to understand, and entertaining! I'm buying extras to give as gifts this Christmas. I love Rodan and Fields and use their products I saw this new book of Katie Rodan and Kathy Fields mentioned in a blog and I can't wait to get it. In fact, I decided to do my Christmas shopping early and got one for my mom and two sisters. We all try to take care of ourselves and sometimes I think my mother looks just as young as we do. Prada Milano Infusion - AwesomeDeal I got the Prada Milano Infusion D'Iris by Prada, 25.5 oz Eau De Parfum Splash for women (Diris) to give to my daughter for her graduation gift - she was absolutely estatic!!! She told me this is her favorite parfum but does not like to wear it very often because she will run out of it - now she can wear it all she wants. It is packaged wonderfully with a full 25.5 oz large bottle with a small emply bottle and funnel. Awesome price - a great deal!!! Rain falling on cedars... Though classified as a floral scent, Infusion D'Iris is much more sofisticated and unlike anything else you can find in a department store. It has that "small boutique" feel. When I spray the perfume on my body, the most recognizable top notes are iris, cedar and incense, balanced by greenery. The resulting olfactory sensation evokes a memory of being caught in a warm rain in a cedar wood with the ground covered with blooming irises. Warm, pleasant and light, but long lasting. On occasion, I can feel it linger thru the following morning, while I undress for a shower. There is a difference when someone says to you "you smell so good", vs. "your perfume smells so good"... When wearing Infusion D'Iris, the first compliment is the one I get most often. The perfume does NOT overwhelm the person. Which is great if you work in a tight environment. Your co-workers will thank you ;o). The only downside I can think of is that the scent is now gaining in popularity. My consolation is that its prevailing notes do seem to change significantly depending on the individual wearer's body chemistry (unlike Eternity, for example, which is VERY recognizable, regardless on whom it is). It is a light scent that is warm enough to do well in the winter months as well. Enjoy! PS: This size is HUGE (about seven times the size of a regular large bottle you'd purchase in a department store), making the price per 1 oz of perfume less then half of what you would normally expect to pay. However, please keep in mind that perfume DOES go bad eventually. If you keep it in a cool, dark place, with a tighly closed cap, you should be OK for a year or two. After that, it should remain wearable, but will start loosing its top notes. My friends and I poolled money to make this purchase, and then devided the stock (you must pick the right container carefully; glass/crystal are best). I keep mine in a lovely cut crystal bottle with a rubber pump. Makes me feel very "decadent"...;o)

Very good - here is what I liked and disliked First of all, I have had microdermabrasion treatments in the past by professional aesthetician and loved the results. However, i bought this product because I didn't want to shell out $150 a treatment and I just didnt have the time or the inclination to lie on an aesthetician's bed for over an hour at a time. I tried this product for the first time today and my skin looks the way it normally does after a professional treatment: Kind of a shiny glow, a little pinkness and a bit of tightness as well. Unfortunately, for me, even with the professional treatment I didnt see the wonderful results until after a few days after the treatment. My guess is that that's when the upper skin cells are gone and the fresher skin beneath has a chance to surface - don't ask me why! What I liked about this kit is that the "tool" actually rotates and not just vibrates when on. I feel that when it rotates, it's actually cleaning (when using the brush attachment) and peeling when using the sponge attachment for the actual dermabrasion. What I disliked is that it takes too long to charge in the cradle. And I guess I used it too long because by the time I was doing the after dermabrasion massage, the unit ran out of charge and I had to finish by hand. Also, the sponge attachment "chipped" off during the treatment. When I opened my eyes after I finished the dermabrasion, there were little flakes of sponge all over the floor! They should have added more sponge attachments because the kit came with 3 but I don't think I can use each more than twice. Lastly, when I bought this unit at Macy's, I didn't see any refill creams or attachments so I think getting ahold of them is going to harder than buying the kit. All in all, a bargain for the price of $29.99 and I felt I got more than my money's worth for a fraction of a single treatment. I would recommend this product. At Last! Microdermabrasion At Home! I just got this kit recently and have been using it twice a week.I am very impressed with the results. I've had proffesional facials and they are expensive and time consuming, though the pampering effect is great. But you can pamper yourself at home in 15 to 20 minutes (and you don't have to tip anyone). I love the microdermabrasion cream and sponge attachment - this is as close as you're going to get to proffesional microdermabrasion at home. It does a terrific job. My skin was smooth as glass after each treatment. This helps treatment products work better and your makeup will glide on (also, you won't have to use very much makeup). Other features of this kit are also nice. The cleansing brush is excellent. The suction attachments to clean the pores are ok but I'm not sure they're very effective. The cool mist is a nice bonus and helps to tighten the pores at the end of your facial. They also include cleanser, toner, and moisturizer. These are a nice bonus but you can use your favorite products with the kit. A form is included so you can order the dermabrasion cream and more sponges at a very reasonable price. I bought a microdermabrasion kit by Susan Lucci and returned it after using it only once. It did not do a good job, was too pricey, and the jar of microdermabrasion cream arrived barely half full. This facial spa kit from Homedics really works and is a bargain. Mixed Results I just got my kit in the mail, so I've only used it once so far. The brush attachment is great -- I didn't find it too rough, and it felt like it was really working to clean my skin. The suction attachments didn't do anything at all (other than leaving blotchy pink marks on my skin). Disappointing. The microdermabrasion cream and sponge attachment FELT like it was working...but my skin still doesn't feel particularly smooth (it WAS bad to begin with, though, in the kit's defense). The massager works the way it's supposed to. The mist feature on mine doesn't work AT ALL. I'd consider exchanging it, but from what I've read, several people have had problems with that particular feature, so I doubt that a new one would be any better. If you're buying it for the microdermabrasion and massage, then go for it. It's a pretty cool little kit. Just don't expect all of the features to work well, or you'll be disappointed

Use it with SmartMouth mouth wash for best results! I have been using the SmartMouth mouth wash for a year now and consider it the BEST mouth wash on the market. And so, a couple of months ago I decided to add the SmartMouth toothpaste to my daily regimen. It works great! The minty taste is not obtrusive. It does NOT COVER bad breath, it ELIMINATES it! Especially when used in conjunction with the mouthwash. There is no chalky afterfeel (some toothpastes make you feel as if you have been chomping on cement...). Joan Collins is a woman who seems to have a lot to say and indeed she does in these books.

This makes a Snowhite look like she came from the Equator! This is my Holy Grail of self tanners, and I think I've tried tons form the cheapest to ones priced such as this one, and no other brand and formula can come close to this! I have been using Fake Bake one for about 5 years now, and I will never dream of stopping. There are a few things I do now, part of my self tanning ritual that are simple enough to continue for years. For best results I shower and scrub my whole body, with some grainy and even oily scrub, then shave, I also scrub my face with face scrub, then I use body wash and dry the skin at the end. Next I put on some light body lotion all over as well as my face lotion on the face. After about 30 minutes when the lotion sinks in ( don't use anything greasy, except for something heavier on knees and elbows, self tanner seems to accumulate on that drier and tougher skin) a I either wear plastic gloves if I have them( from hair color kits or cosmetic stores)or I use bare hands ( and I scrub and wash them about 3 times when the whole body is done - the hands will be mahogany brown!!) and apply this lotion in circular motion, from feet up. I rub it in really well, and this stuff comes out BROWN. You will look like something form another planet once you are done, but that is the color guide that tells you if you missed any spots, Better to see them now than in the morning! I also put it in the face, then I get dressed in pajamas, after waiting fro like30 minutes while I relax. I wear dark pajamas only, because this will rub off on the clothes, and I make sure I wash the sheets the next day, they will stain a bit, but it always comes out in the wash, no worries, just don't use your special 1000 thread count crisp white sheets, better safe than sorry. I always do this before bed, theres not way you can walk out in this, its so dark on!! The next day when you wake up the color is a wee dark, but once I shower, the remaining color guide washes off and I look like I just came form a tropical get away. This stuff makes you look like a trillion bucks, and I love it!! I put a dab on my face almost every night, to even out my complexion, I am really white and pale and this really makes me glow, not much makeup is necessary after this self tanner. So give it a try, it's a bit of a job at first, but I have been using it for so long, that I will always be worth the price and effort, I simply love the outcome!! I also always get complements on my skin after I use this, like suddenly I'm skinny and tan, wowweee. This is a great product! I have used fake bake for several years and really like the product. I used to work for a tanning salon where I would administer spray tans, and fake bake has many of the same ingredients as the solution we used (specifically DHA which is what makes you look tan). You need to use gloves when you put it on, and I would recommend putting lotion on your knees, ankles, feet, and elbows before applying the Fake Bake lotion to avoid getting these areas too dark. Also, you can use regular Fake Bake on your face; I have very sensitive skin, but if I mix a small amount of Fake Bake with my regular face lotion, I don't have any problems (they have a special one for faces too if you prefer). Fake Bake goes on very dark so that you can see any areas that you have missed. You are supposed to put it on before bed and wash it off in the morning. It has never stained my sheets. I can tell a significant difference the very first time I use it. It normally takes 2-3 times for me to get my desired color. After that, I use it weekly for maintence. Hope this helps! "The Natural Look" Ive used many different types of tanning products but most in the past have managed to achieve the "tangerine" look or has streaked. Fake Bake gives you a complete natural glow that makes you look and therefore feel so good. It is an instant tan which therefore enables you to see clearly where yoyu are applying the product. I must admit at first use it looks pretty scary as it is thick and glupy like marmite but that is because of you obtaining the instant tan and the help of seeing where you have applied this. It may look very dark at first but that is what its meant to be as it is best to apply it at night before you go to bed and then in the morning have a shower to reveal this 100% beautiful looking tan!! it lasts upto 4 days or so and you just keep applying when wanting a tan and the product lasts for a while there is alot in the bottle so its good value for money too. So it is well worth it!

After a year's use: BEST mouthwash on the market! I used to use Listerine, Scope, Plax, etc. Nothing offered results that would last for more then an hour. I love this book...LOTS of pictures This is my first juice book. I love the section on "super healthy juices" and "vital veggie blends". Good recipes for the serious juicer and for the those who want to have fun creating some exotic juice blends...check out "extra exotic coolers" Also, the pictures are WONDERFUL. Works well, if you can get the dual pump to work I initially was angry about this product. It took me a good 5 or 6 wasted pumps of the sunscreen to get the moisturizer to come out with it. It tells you in various places to tap the bottle on a hard surface if it doesn't start pumping with both. That led me to believe it was a common issue. But once I got over the wasted couple tablespoons of product, I do really like this. It's doesn't leave you shiny and sinks in easily. It's oil free and non-comedogenic(won't clog pores). Very light fragrance, nothing overpowering or noticeable. Does not leave a white-cast like some sunscreen infused products can. It does seem to pill up a little(when you go back over the area you lotioned a couple minutes later, it rolls up into a little ball), and thats never good. But despite that I do still like this product and will use it. But those two major issues - the pump and pilling lead me to give it 3 stars. I was specifically looking for something at least 30 SPF with UVA/UVB protection, because otherwise, it's barely worth it. I think it's important to wear sunscreen daily as I am fair with freckles(which keep getting darker and producing little freckle babies) so it's a must. I also have sensitive, skin with hormonal breakouts, and my skin hasn't become angry... we've got happy skin here. Also, please don't forget to apply to the back of your hands, neck and chest area! Nothing worse then a pretty ageless face with spotted, wrinkly hands and chest. Lastly, just for some technical info. It says PABA free on the box. Had no clue what this meant. After some research, I found PABA is para-aminobenzoic acid and has been discontinued from use in sunscreen products due to allergic skin reactions in some people. Some other important sunscreen info if you're interested: What is the difference between a SPF 15 and a SPF 30 plus? A SPF 15 sunscreen absorbs about 93% of the UV, which means it lets 7% of the UV through into the skin. A SPF 30 sunscreen lets about 3.5% of the UV through. This means a SPF 30 sunscreen reduces by half the amount of UV getting through to the skin. However, you should still re-apply a SPF30 sunscreen product every two hours, just like you do a SPF 15 sunscreen product. What do UVA and UVB mean? UVA are the long wave ultraviolet rays (from 320-400nm). UVA rays can penetrate to the deeper layers of the skin and produce delayed effects leading to accelerated skin aging. UVB are the shorter wavelength rays (from 280-320nm) which can produce immediate burning of the outer layer of skin, leading to sunburn in the short term and skin cancer in the longer term. Frustrated I'm not sure if I bought a faulty bottle, but I'm having trouble with this product. I don't doubt that it works for some people, I just don't have the money or patience to get both pumps working. The only thing that will come out is the sunscreen, which leaves my face feeling greasy and smelling like I splashed on men's cologne. The bottle says to lightly tap it on a hard surface, which i've been doing for a whole day every time i try to test it, and it still won't work. (If this is such a common issue that they leave a warning on the label, why not have it already combined in the bottle since it will come together on your face anyway?) Good product but took a lot for the pump to work right I like this product but like others mentioned both pumps didn't work. For me only the moisturizer would come out and not the suncreeen (I bought mime at a local retail store). Anyway i tried tapping the bottle lightly as suggested to get both pumps to work but that didn't help at all. However, in the process of lightly tapping the upper part of the botttle against my dresser the top white part came off exposing the two individual pumps. So i tried pushing down on the suncreen pump alone several time and it probably took about 20 or so tries and some suncreen finally came out. I put the white cap (not the transparent lid) back on and did some more tapping, then i pushed down on only the suncreen part (as opposed to pushing down on the middle like recommended) until some suncreen came out then when i tried pushing down on the middle part both pumps finally worked and i now get both moisturizer and suncreen. Phew! Anyway it seems like a lot of work to get the product to work but in the end i do like this product and its great for oily and combination skin. I have a really oily T zone and normal in the cheek area and this works well for me - very light weight and non greasy.

SUPERB!! This is the third massage item I bought with the Homedics brand. Impressive! As a very serious exercise enthusiast this machine has the unusual power to calm and restore even the most fatigued muscles. Now two months with the product, I found my recovery time has dramatically improved as well. The massager works the back and shoulders and their various pressure points with a "deep tissue" style. This is serious massage- and excellent at that!! Strong 5 stars. It works works hard for the money Every few months I wake up with a really stiff, burning muscle in my lower neck or shoulders. I have found that, if I can enlist someone to do so, a strong kneading of the affected area brings immediate and often lasting relief. But -- here's the rub -- my significant other travels a lot so I am sometimes left to my own devices. On more than one occasion I have driven to the mall to sit in one of the $2,000 Sharper Image massage chairs for relief (seems I can never book a short-notice "real" massage). So, this weekend, when I woke up with a stiff, burning muscle in my right shoulder blade, I started researching more affordable massage cushions (I already have an easy chair) which led me to buy the SBM-500H. After my first hour of use I'm ready to say it was worth the money. Most cushions do not go high enough to massage your shoulders but this model has a seperate upper pad for that area. Those rollers can be raised or lowered via the remote control (but not widened or narrowed, which would be nice too). Because the back of the pad is rather tall (even for my 6'1" frame) my head hits it which makes it harder to press my sholders into the upper massage rollers. But I managed to do so. The lower rollers do a good job on the main back area. Both upper and lower have seperate heat functions, which work well. While not as good as the expensive chairs, at one-tenth the price it did the trick (no more neck ache!). As for price I am a HUGE Amazon fan but did buy this model at Linen's & Things (Bed, Bath & Beyond has them too) using one of their ubiquitous discount coupons. Okay product but quality isn't really there I purchased this model after returning the quad. I returned the quad because I wanted the shoulder massage function. This model provides a decent massage, but there are some issues with mine that are worth noting. 1. After about 10 minutes of use the rollers start to squeal and don't seem to be working as hard as they were previously. 2. I am not tall, 5'2", and the shoulder rollers barely reach my shoulders. 3. The seat cushion does not stay in place, it slides forward & feels cheap. 4. The back rollers don't go as far up my back as the quad rollers did. I will probably return the product because of the squealing. I am hoping this is just a problem with my model and not a product defect.

Love It! Buying my 2nd after 6 happy years (even though the old one works) I bought this flat iron back in 2003 because it was the model my girlfriend used so I knew I liked it. A couple months ago I heard good things about ceramic tile so I decided to branch out and try the Remington Wet 2 Straight flat iron but I don't like it! So I'm going back to this model which I love because of the super wide panels and even heat distribution. I have no complaints. I've also dropped it too many times to count but it still works great. ?? I Bought this for my mom where she was using one of the 90's and now she is happy with this one.

Comprehensive Much better than "The Acne Cure," which I also reviewed. Provides lots of information and different regimens for many different skin types. Surprisingly, though from the creators of Proactiv, the book provides recommendations for a number of products. Nearly everything in the book can be found here on Amazon or at Walmart or Target. Good Book. This is a good book, but it just overviews the normal 3 steps to fight acne...and gives lists of OTC products you can buy. If your acne isnt that bad then its worth it--but everything I tried from this book didnt work for me!! (It helped but didnt clear me up completely.) The ladies that wrote this book made Proactiv. "Unblemished" is a great common sense approach to acne self-care "Unblemished" is a fantastic book everyone should have on their bookshelf. The doctors and Lori Bush share years of skincare experience and their incredible knowledge with us,projecting the great warmth and candor as they are known for. A pain in the neck I own a whole closetful of Homedic products and this neck "massager" (yes, those are ironic scare quotes) is the only one I regret buying. It is also the cheapest and sometimes you really do get what you pay for. All of the other Homedic products I own -- back massager, shoulder massager, and foot massager -- actually massage using rotating balls. The neck "massager" provides its stimulation by vibrating. After using it I do not feel that the neck muscles have been stimulated at all. More than anything, my skull feels rattled. Because the massage, such as it is, is accomplished by vibrating rather than the rotating balls used in their other massagers, you can't really read or watch TV while using it. Reading is impossible since you aren't able to focus on the page and TV is difficult, unless you don't mind that the vibrating leaves you unable to see the picture clearly. I passionately recommend the Homedics shiatsu shoulder massage pillow. I strongly recommend the Homedics back massagers (though only if you are willing to put it in the correct chair -- the wrong chair and it will bruise your back). And I'm rapidly becoming a fan of their foot massager. But make sure you pass on the neck massager. Useless I purchased this item on sale for $10 at a big box store. It's not worth $10. The small heating units at the back don't sit against the neck and can't be turned on without the vibrating function. I was hoping for something warm and comfy like the microwaveable neck warmers (but with lasting warmth)--this isn't it. Zipper Broke, Then Battery Compartment Broke I'm not happy with this product. To open the battery compartment requires unzipping the zipper. The zipper broke in the process of opening it when it got stuck. Opening the battery was just as difficult and that compartment door broke when trying to open it. The product itself does not throw out heat as advertised. The product did not come with instructions. I would not buy from this seller.

not bad, just normal I have been using this epilator for 5 years and it never made me troubles. It is still working absolutely identical to the first day. It hearts epilating sometimes, but not very much. I purchased it in Russia, so it was 220 V. Now I moved in US and for this reason got another one (Braun 5270 Silk-épil X'elle Body System Epilator). So now I can compare. This one is more painful, comparing to the Braun. And it takes very long time. I did it usually ones in 2 - 4 weeks, and it was like the whole evening for the legs and underarms. I know that if you do it more often it takes less time, but with this product it is definitely more than 1 hour any time (usually it is 2-5 hours), so it was hard to made myself using it. I never have plenty of time, so it was the reason why I was combining it with shaving. (epilate and after 2-3 weeks start shaving before using it next time). It has 2 speeds. I would call them 1) Very slow and 2) Slow. If it had the 3-rd "normal to fast" speed, I would give it 4 stars. But it hasn't. But! I found that for underarms and some parts of bikini area (for all extremely sensitive parts with high density of hairs per sqare area) it performs better than Braun because of it slow speed. It becomes more delicate and less painful. (If you ask me about the Braun epilator I'd say it doesn't have a normal speed as well. It has 1) rather fast and 2) very fast.) I don't recommend to buy it for bikini particular, though. Still hard to do, should be something better in our world. I purchased Emjoi EpiSlim (cosmetic hair remover for delicate areas and touch-ups) but I didn't try it yet. And do not even think to use normal epilators (like this one and others) for your face! This is the worst idea ever! That should be something special, particularly for face. Otherwise you will look like a shaving man. It is not this product problem, but just a wrong usage. This is not very expencive and it works, at least. Not bad, I think. better than a No No I give this item a thumbs up. I have had mine for 2 years now. The difference between now and then is amazing. I usually spend no more than 1/2 hr using this and only have to use it once per week.I bought a NO No thinking that I wouldn't get the little red bumps but truth be told the No No only burns the hair off the surface and doesn't last for more than a couple days. I find that if I use a bath glove in the shower and then epilate it is much easier. The hair comes in so much softer and lighter. Some is completely gone after using for the last 2 years. I purchased mine from Sally's Beauty supply 2 years ago for $99, so this is a steal! Smooth Great purchase. Item arrived on time and in good condition. Leaves your skin smooth and is basically painless. Lasts a few weeks before you need to use it again! (Just a note that only works in the Americas with 120 v, so if you plan to travel abroad with this you will need a transformer and a converter)

There is hope out there ladies! Have not finished the book, but have ready about half. The parts that I have read pertain to my problem and some other issues friends are having. This is the 4th book I have bought that was about hair loss. This book covers more that hair loss. There are so many different reasons women loose their hair, and ways to correct at lease in part if not fully regain the hair. Many reasons have the same symptoms, which makes it difficult. However, this means also that there are more way to get back some if not all your hair. I would recommend this book and The Bald Truth by Spencer Kobren (even before The Truth about women's hair loss by Kobren). If you are considering a hair transplant please read this first. There are other subjects that may come in handy for your friends and family too. waste of money This book had very little information in it. Dr. Redmond is supposed to be knowledgeable about hormones yet mentions little about using bio-identical hormones and doesn't seem to understand the function of progesterone. Don't waste your money or time on this one. The only book you need! As an electrologist I have been guiding women toward the hormonal solutions to their excessive hair growth (mostly facial) and distressing head hair loss, for over 26 years. Until Dr. Redmond's book, it was very difficult to find information by a REAL expert. This book should be read from front page to last page for a full understanding of who Dr. Redmond is, why he is qualified to help, and how to go about solving your specific problem. Any reviewer that says you cannot find your solution with the help of this book is simply wrong--they must not have actually read it! I offer this book to every client that comes through my door with a potential hormone problem (which is almost every client). I have read just about every hormone book that has been published (my clients bring them in). I have attended many seminars-heard many speakers.Some are ok, but none as thorough and fact/science based as Dr. Redmond. Read this book, and go to your physician to get the help you need and deserve!

Great little steamer - good gift idea My wife is an esthetician and wanted somedthing for home use. She uses this once a week for a great home mini facial. Shortly after, I got one for for my mother and she uses it with a relaxing lavender scent. Since I'm so bad at picking Xmas gifts, this will definitely be on the list for the women in my life. Convenient and useful little steamer I am quite happy with this product. It serves its purpose; steamer button opens your pores and lets out warm steam. Ozone button lets out thicker white steam. The only annoying part is that sometimes it "spits" out a bit of liquid which scared me in the beginning but I got used to it by now. My face looks much better and easier to clean. I would say go for it. My skin looks a lot younger and fresher. Don't recommed this steamer I purchased this steamer a month ago and used for about 5 times now (only about 3 minutes every time). here is my experience: The machine does produce steams, but it also spits out the very hot water to your face. I have never used any greasy stuff in the water, neither did I add water outside the limit mark. I used only purified water. But it consistently spits out the dangerous hot water to my face as long as it starts to produce steam. It makes a very dangerous sound while the water spitting out. I felt like the a dangerous hot water bomb hanging above my head. The water being spitted out was very hot and can get somebody seriously burned. I surely don't recommend this product (not sure about similar products of other brands). It is a totally waste. I think that the company including Amazon should be careful of selling this product. Cleans well, unless you are trying to remove make up
I hate to wash my face in the evenings (you end up going to bed with wet hair). Therefore, I have been searching for towelettes which would be strong enough to remove foundation and waterproof mascara, but gentle enough for my sensitive skin. Even though Pond's was my third towelette brand, my search continues. Ponds did an OK job removing oil from a make up free face, but did a poor job removing make up.

PROS:
- Leaves face smooth and soft;
- Smells pleasantly;
- As promissed, did not interfere with my contact lenses;

CONS:
- Small size (six by seven inches); uncomfortable to handle in the palm of your hand; also, if you are trying to remove full make up (foundation, eyes, lipstick), one cloth is not enough, you need two, at least;
- Despite the claim, it does NOT remove waterproof mascara; in fact, it is very difficult to remove make up using this product; after rubbing hard with two cloths, I ran a ball soaked in astringent over my face and the amount of make up left behind was unacceptable;
- Though does not dry out face skin, it does dry out the delicate skin around the eyes;
- Despite promisses of younger looking skin after a week's use, I saw no visible change in the appearance of my skin;

Ultimately, I believe I could recommend these towelettes for those occasions when you need to clean a make-up free face. This would include a quick after work out clean up, when sweat needs to be eliminated (from any body part), but there is no time for a shower. Or, for those mornings when you have to join the company before there is time for a shower. However, if you need wet cloths that can clean AND effectively remove make up, alas, these are not it.

After receiving this product, I opened them that night to cleanse my face and they had such a sour smell! I believe they must have been stored somewhere too hot, but I could not use them!

Gentle for sensitive skin
I have sensitive skin and was using the Ponds regular towelettes and found them to be hard on my skin. I switched to the Age-Defying towelettes and happy that I did. The age-defying removes my make-up very well and I can even take off my mascara without any problems. They leave my skin feeling soft. I will be purchasing the Age-defying towelettes from now on.

SPRING:

SEASON OF BEGINNINGS

Few of us are immune to the delights of spring and to the excitement of this exquisite seasonal change. Dark skies, rain, and snow are banished; the sunshine dazzles us with its bright warmth. Our winter confinement indoors ends, and we are liberated into a world that seems new and full of promise. It often seems that each spring is unique, and the season is invented anew each time--unlike autumn, which can seem hauntingly reminiscent of seasons past. Spring offers us the opportunity to begin again, to cleanse ourselves of old attitudes, behaviors, and possessions, and set a course for a year of fulfillment and happiness.

As we long to be a part of all the newness and growth around us, we may find ourselves yearning for a new job, a new home, a new baby, or even a new relationship. We can feel confined by our winter-softened bodies and want to be sleeker, stronger, and to restore color to our skin. The natural tempo of life quickens now that the dormancy of winter has ended. Spring is associated with the energy that governs all that grows--plants, animals, and humans. It is the season of ideas, creativity, and the work of building and making, which are symbolized by the seeds we plant in the spring. "Spring fever" is not just a figment of your imagination--it's a response to the irresistible rising energy of the season, and the return of yang's influence.

Staying flexible is important during spring, as we allow our roots and  branches to grow in every direction necessary. Since everything around you is also being stimulated to grow and change, if you feel you're being left behind, you'll become frustrated and angry. You may listen to your friend describing exciting plans for the season ahead and grow irritated at her enthusiasm and energy.

Spring truly sets the stage for summer, since summer sees the flowering of the buds that emerge in spring. Imbalance now will manifest itself as imbalance in the following season. We must make sure that we clear our minds and exercise our bodies. Bathing rituals in particular help in this cleansing-and-awakening process. The self-care program that follows will help you avoid these seasonal pitfalls and remain in balance so that you can take full advantage of spring's opportunities for personal growth and change.

Cleansing and Balancing with Hot and Cold

Most of us love the sensation that follows a "good sweat," and there's a reason for it. Not only is our skin our body's largest organ, it's a principal organ of elimination. Whereas we tend to think of our skin as mere upholstery, in Chinese medicine the skin is considered the "third lung" and the "third kidney." When you perspire, you are cleansing your body--no wonder it feels great.

Sweating is one of the primary forms of detoxification and has been incorpo-rated into cleansing and purification rituals in virtually every culture. Native American communities still use "sweats," and in Arab countries, the steam bath, or hammam, remains a central part of life.

While heat therapy is generally used alone in this country, some of us have used a "cold plunge" in conjunction with a steam bath, or have heard about certain hardy Scandinavians who roll in the snow after their sauna. Kneipp therapy, from Europe, includes among its many modalities the contrast of hot and cold temperatures, a process that is invigorating for the cardiovascular system right down to its tiniest capillaries.

This is an easy process to do at home, but you may need to overcome a mental block about the discomfort of cold temperatures. Once you've tried temperature contrast, you'll swear by its tonic effects, particularly for jet lag, lack of sleep, or even a hangover.

* First, take a hot shower, allowing your body temperature to rise until you see or feel a flush on the skin. Using a loofah, net sponge, or granular cleanser, vigorously exfoliate the skin. This helps remove waste that's being excreted from the pores and it also further stimulates circulation.

* Now quickly bring the temperature of your shower down to cool, making sure the cool water comes in contact with your entire body. Avoid keeping the cold water in contact with the back of your neck, a spot that is particularly vulnerable to chill.

* Now quickly bring the temperature of the shower back up, allowing your body to once again get very warm.

* Repeat this process several times, until your skin is tingling. Finish your shower with cold water. Your head should feel clear and your energy level elevated; many people feel as though they've had a couple of extra hours of sleep!

Support for the Cleansing Process

Massage therapy as well as body therapies such as wraps, steam, and hydrotherapy accelerate the cleansing process and can be performed in conjunction with your "spring cleaning." They will dramatically enhance the results of a cleansing. Lymphatic drainage massage, while surprisingly gentle, is particularly helpful. Energy-balancing bodywork like polarity, Shiatsu, or Reike can also be very beneficial for normalizing your energy flow during this season of tremendous change.

The Healing Fragrance of Flowers

Having fresh flowers in your living and working space is a wonderful, healthful indulgence that allows you to savor the energy of Mother Nature as she transforms water and earth into abundant blossoms and new growth. The feminine relationship with flowers is innate: The aromatic essences released by blossoms are said by aromatherapists to act primarily on our reproductive system, helping to balance the ovarian hormones.
